I posted my first story to writers_guild!

I am so very nervous! I hope they don't like, totally bash it like I've seen in other posts! I heard they don't like mangas much!

So nervous...

but ganbashou ne!

Here it is...

Hello wonderful people! ^__^

I've been trying my hand at writing, and finally, here I have worked up the courage to post the first chapter of what shall soon be my manga! As soon as I can get someone to draw it! It's about an assassin who's smart, and funny. I know how much you all hate cliches so, I tried to make it unlike any assassins I have seen!

It's only the first chapter and so most is just establishing who she is so there isn't much action yet, but I do hope you like it and tell me your thoughts! I don't mind crit so much as long as it's constructive! Yoroshiku onegai shimasu! Domo arigatou gozaimasu!

Imoko hated her name, her parents, and being fat. In exactly that order.

If you say 'Imoko' three times fast, it sounds like Japanese for potato, which, given her size, was not a very flattering name. She would have preferred an ordinary, innocuous name like, say, Susan. Or Bridget. Or even Penelope.

But her parents were Livejournal friends who were both Japanophiles, met in real life at an anime cosplayers convention, and drunk themselves silly one night, and there she was, nine months later, saddled with a name guaranteed to earn snickers if she ever found herself in the vicinity of Tokyo or a busful of Japanese tourists. Luckily, being stuck in a little town in Indiana, that was not likely to happen. Ichigo would even have been better, she sometimes thought, it meant 'strawberry'--not that she was a redhead or even particularly pink, which was a good thing.

She also blamed her parents for her weight. She wasn't born big, in fact, Imoko wasn't even born a she, but one of the cosplayers hanging around her parents had been running around with a second-hand katana once while she was a baby, slipped, and, well... you can imagine the rest. What genes didn't accomplish, the steroids and hormones did, and here she was: 19, five foot seven and 185 pounds of killer tranny geek.

The weight didn't bother her so much, except on hot and humid days when she had to run very fast. She hated it when the sweat dripped into her cornflower blue orbs, and made her chestnut locks all stringy. Still the fat was helpful when she was on a mission--the extra padding stabilized the rifle, as well as helped cushion her against the recoil that would otherwise rattle her teeth.

Her parents didn't bother her so much, either, she was more or less raised by her grandmother, although there were times she was worried history might repeat itself, grandma might make the same mistakes, and she would end up like her mother.

"Your name, please?"

She looked up at the Starbucks barista who was desperately trying to not look at her--that happened a lot, she noticed--but was intently studying the tip of the marker poised over the paper cup.

"Margaret."

"Margaret, " the man behind her murmured, sounding amused.

He was tall, wearing all black, almost pretty, and very, very Asian, just like the people she saw everyday on her mother's computer which she hacked for fun, being a computer genius.

"Margaret, " he repeated almost lovingly. "That's a pretty name. If it were true... Imoko. "

She almost gasped. "How... how did you know my name?"

He smiled, looking intently at her eyes, which were now a darker ultramarine, from shyness. " We can talk about that later. But what I'd really like to know is, how would you like to work for me?"
This livejournal is very addicting! I'm posting again when I just posted earlier!

I sw the most kawaii Korean boy with reddish spiky hair at the mall when mom treated me to lunch! He was reading something that looked very interesting, (NOT MANGA, BUT OK!) and he seemed very engrossed in what he read!

I hope I see him again! ^_____^ Kakkoi!

Of course now I am practicing the most basic of the basic How to Draw Manga books! It teaches how to make the characters. Very simple lines to follow. The eyes are the most complicated of all, but its ok. I like drawing eyes. In fact my notebooks in school are all covered in eyes!

OMG! I forgot to ask mom to buy art supplies! T____T

But that could be good! Maybe I can ask her tomorrow if she wants to go shopping again! (EVIL LAUGH) And since it's another day already, she won't notice if I ask her to buy a lot more of stuffs! I love my MOM!

Konnichiwa~! Watashi wa Shiroi Desu!

My name is Sherry but I go by the name Shiroi because it is white in JAPAN. And also because I think it is a reflection of my personality. White of all the colors is very importent because its white that makes the brightness of creation stands out in all it's glory.

Like the beautiful colors of the Aurora Borealis which is nothing without the white light of stars. I am cheerful, and I try to always be on the side of GOOD, but of course GOOD has an EVIL side.

I am trying this dichotomy as a central theme in my works. Right now I am writing a manga that I hope someday to be adapted in anime format. I am thinking of it as a mecha anime/manga as opposed to all the fantasy adventure shoujo manga around! (No offense to all the fantasy adventure and shoujo manga writers out there! ^ ^)

If there are animators and illustrators out there who is interested in colaboration, I think I can be a very helpful partner. Comments and suggestions are key because I know that EXCELLENCE in writing cannot be achieved by a lone individual. So Im hoping this journal will help!

I am new to Livejournal obviously, so I will apriciate having plenty of friends!

Happy reading! Comment to be added.
